Is IoT innovation rate hampered by the relatively low availability of protective enclosures against environmental factors

Hi everyone.  I have been trying to develop various IoT applications using the Raspberry Pi where the deployment would be outdoors. However I have the impression that there is a lack of development in the availability of protective enclosures
